DON'T FORGET TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!
Good morning, readers! I have a funky manicure to show you today that I wore over the weekend. After seeing this post from Heather at Peace, Love, and Polish during our Summer Week with The Digit-al Dozen, I HAD to try something similar. I hadn't successfully use the water spotted technique yet and I loved how it looked with a gradient base. You can see this video tutorial by Cutepolish if you want to get the idea of how I did the top layer. I used hair spray instead, and got some awesome sharp shapes on my nails that I prefer to the circles. I kept looking at my nails and getting a Maleficent vibe (which could be because I had just watched the movie that week).

I was inspired by 4 colors on this Design Seeds photo I found on their Facebook page. If I am ever in a pickle and can't figure out a good color combo, I go straight to their page. It's an amazing resource.
I started out with 2 coats of OPI Taupe-less Beach. Then, I used a sponge and did a gradient with OPI Taupe-less Beach, OPI Push & Pur-pull, and OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-holm?Once the gradient was done, I used the water spotted technique with OPI Nein!Nein!Nein!Ok Fine! HK Girl was the top coat used to seal it all in.
What do you think? I was really happy with the funky random sharp shapes created using the hair spray for the water spotted nails. I'll have to keep experimenting with this technique as well! Thanks so much for reading!
